Cedric Gosse, Vice President of the French Federation of
triathlon and President of the PIF triathlon commented: "We fully
support the Eurostar Tri-City-Athlon which links the three capitals
and this popular sporting discipline in a challenging and
innovative way. As always in competitions there will be winners and
losers but on this occasion everyone participating will be
undertaking something which simply hasn't been done before. We are
looking forward to the launch of the event which will be in Paris
on 14 September. Good luck to all the entrants."

Zara Hyde Peters, Chief Executive of British Triathlon said:
"Triathlon as a fast moving, modern and dynamic Olympic Sport sees
the Tri-City-Athlon as yet another good example of how the sport of
triathlon can adapt and modify to fit any situation in any country
- each competitor being given the opportunity to achieve their own
personal triathlon challenge"
Zara Hyde Peters, Chief Executive of British
Triathlon
We think the Eurostar Tri-City-Athlon is a fantastic initiative.
The event will help promote triathlon and sports as a whole in
Europe, and especially in Belgium where there is a very strong
tradition of strong triathlon athletes. This 3-country triathlon
can only be made possible thanks to Eurostar, the cross country
rail operator in Belgium, France and the UK. This is the first time
ever that a major international triathlon event is held in Brussels
and even in the whole of Belgium with so many pro triathletes
participating. Without the support of my team, the authorities of
the city of Brussels and the full cooperation of the police force
it would not have been possible to organise this event. It will
undoubtedly be a great success."
